There are a handful of questions that I get asked really frequently. One of them is, “Will there ever be a 1960s Mode, featuring Dozuki as the protagonist?”
I’m thankful to have fans who are so invested in Yandere Sim that they take the time to learn about the secondary and tertiary characters such as Dozuki Aishi – the mother of Ryoba Aishi – who obtained her Senpai in 1968. However, it does get tiresome to type out the same answer multiple times every day: “No. Dozuki didn’t eliminate her rivals – she simply kidnapped and mind-broke her Senpai – so there won’t ever be any gameplay mode where she is the protagonist. It would be short and boring.”
One solution is to simply write out the answer on the About page of the official website, and just tell people to go check that page whenever they ask me. However, I’ve come up with another solution that might be more engaging and entertaining. First, a bit of backstory…
I’d like for the Characters page of the official website to have profiles for some of Ayano’s most noteworthy ancestors. I came up with an especially elaborate backstory for her great-grandmother, so I requested artwork of her, and then added her profile to the Characters page. (Please go check it out! The illustrations that have been created for her are absolutely gorgeous!) I decided that this was a great time to do two things that I’ve been meaning to do for a while: Answer the “1960s Mode” question…and try out “short-form content” for the first time.
So, I created this – a YouTube short about Dozuki and Kataba!
Man, I really miss making videos! But, I can’t justify taking time away from development to produce long, ambitious content. This type of video – less than three minutes long, not requiring a huge investment of time to produce – might be a fair compromise. It’s too early to confirm whether or not I will make similar videos in the near future, but I hope you enjoy it, anyway!
