January 9th Bug-Fixing Build

I’ve made another series of bug fixes to the game! The game still has some other issues that I plan to address as soon as possible, but I wanted to get this build out quickly because it has some important improvements over the previous build.

To read a list of everything that was added / changed / fixed / improved since the previous build, scroll down past this stylish illustration of Osana by kyorinsan_831!

Improvements

  • When the player does not possess an item, that item’s icon is semi-transparent in the inventory screen. However, the transparency was set so high that it was difficult to tell the difference between an item that the player did have, and an item that the player did not have. The transparency of “non-possessed items” has been lowered so that it’s easier to tell the difference between the two.
  • I heard from a lot of players who spent over an hour in Custom Mode and then accidentally hit the “Randomize All” button and wiped out all their work, so the “Randomize All” button now summons a window that asks the player to confirm whether or not they really want to randomize all students.
  • When visiting the town in Custom Mode, your protagonist hides her face and hair with a disguise. However, the disguise looked really stupid in combination with a pink dress, so from now on, the protagonist wears the “stealth mission” outfit when incognito in town.
  • It is now possible to befriend the student council characters in Mission Mode. This is to make it possible to complete any mission that involves eliminating a student council character with the “Crush” method.
  • Previously, the “Being Chased” music in Yakuza Mode would only play when a teacher or council member was chasing the player. That music will now also play if a Heroic student is chasing the player.
  • Your Custom Mode protagonist no longer appears as Ryoba in the delinquent beat-em-up minigame; she now wears a disguise.
  • Replaced all of Info-chan’s voice lines with new ones.
  • Improved the delinquent boys’ face textures.
  • Improved Miyuji’s hair.

Fixes

  • “Yakuza Mode” requires the player to have a katana in their possession in order to exfiltrate after a successful mission. However, the game didn’t consider “the player is wearing a bag containing a katana” to meet the criteria. This oversight has been corrected.
  • If a mind-broken slave was sent to kill a student council member who had broken up a fight between the player and a delinquent earlier in the day, the mind-broken slave would never be able to attack the student council member. This bug has been fixed.
  • A lot of additional trees were added to the school in the Big January Update. Unfortunately, the camera was clipping into one of these trees during the “Gardening Club Activity” cutscene. This bug has been fixed.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the wrong button prompts to display at the bottom of the screen in Custom Mode when moving backwards through the menus from the Miscellaneous Options menu to the Rival Editor menu.
  • All students are meant to have 5 likes and 5 dislikes. I recently realized that not all 202X students had 5 likes and 5 dislikes! Oops! I have adjusted the likes/dislikes of some students accordingly.
  • When designing a character’s routine in Custom Mode, giving them the “Club” action would sometimes result in that character just walking in place forever. This bug has been fixed.
  • Fixed bug that was causing Senpai to fail to rotate to face the correct direction in a Custom Mode interaction event if the event was not in its default location.
  • Fixed Custom Mode menu bug that prevented the player from being able to make Senpai’s animation ID wrap around from the first animation to his last animation.
  • It is no longer possible to select “Fan” or “Pool” as a rival’s canon elimination method in Custom Mode, since those methods are exclusive to Osana.
  • In 1980s Mode, the 8th rival’s diary only listed 4 of her 5 likes. Oops! This error has been corrected.
  • Fixed typo in the “choose how you’re going to eliminate Osana” screen.
  • Changed Ichikou’s name to Ichiko.
