January 6th Bug-Fixing Build

I’ve prepared an update that fixes a bunch of issues that were in yesterday’s build!

To read a list of everything that was fixed or improved, scroll down past this absolutely adorable New Years artwork by eeennnnenen!

Improvements

It is now possible to choose any of the ten 1980s Mode rivals as a target when you are designing a multi-mission. This means that you can now create missions like this:

Think you can complete that mission?

  • Previously, if the player tried to exfiltrate during a Yakuza Mode mission, the option would be disabled as long as the player was being chased. From now on, that will no longer be the case; you can now exfiltrate even if you’re being chased by someone.
  • The player now has the option of throwing an aimed object with the “E” key instead of being limited to using the left mouse button. (This means that laptop users without distinct left/right mouse buttons can now aim and throw things.)
  • Replaced several characters’ hair models. (If you think, “Ew, the new hair model is a downgrade!” you are welcome to create a superior model and send it to me.)
  • When randomizing a student, the same hairstyle can no longer appear twice in a row.

Fixes

  • If the player’s custom protagonist wore a raincoat in Custom Mode, Ryoba’s hairstyle would appear. This bug has been fixed. (Sadly, the custom protagonist has to appear bald when wearing a raincoat, because otherwise, their custom hairstyle might clip through the raincoat.)
  • Certain characters, if instructed to perform “CustomHangout” as part of their routine, would reach their destination and then walk in place forever and never perform the animation that they were supposed to perform. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player attempted to make the protagonist wear loose socks, the socks would not appear. (Also, if the player went to school with “loose socks” selected as their legwear, their body would turn solid white.) This bug has been fixed.
  • The “Positive/Negative” option was still appearing in the Socialize menu even though the nature of the menu had been changed to no longer permit swapping between positive and negative statements. This bug has been fixed.
  • Some players encountered a bug that would cause a sandbag to float in the air in the gymnasium. I wasn’t able to replicate the bug, but I think I understand what was causing the bug, and it may be fixed in this build.
  • As mentioned above, your custom protagonist will not appear when you’re in town; you will see Ryoba, instead. However, a bug was causing Ryoba to load with the wrong textures. This bug has been fixed.
  • The mouse cursor was invisible in the Custom Mode menu, preventing players from using the “Click a character’s name to change it” or “Place icons on the map” features. This bug has been fixed.
  • In the last build, I tried to fix a bug that caused bully girls to have bookbags clipping into their bodies in their portraits. I didn’t succeed. This time, the bug should actually be fixed.
  • When performing the “improve painting” task, the player is supposed to be able to watch the painting change in real-time. A bug was preventing this from happening. That bug has been fixed.
  • Previously, if a character was wrapped up in a bodybag while they had a bookbag over their shoulder, their bookbag would float outside of the bodybag. This bug has been fixed.
  • In Custom Mode, an unknown bug is causing hairstyle #19 to appear invisible. I can’t figure out the cause of the bug, so for now, hairstyle #19 will not be selectable.
  • Fixed bug that would cause Senpai and Osana to have the incorrect appearances during the “stalking Senpai and Osana as they walk to school” sequence on Thursday.
  • Female character models would glitch out if they were assigned a hair ID of “0”, so from now on, it’s no longer possible to give them that hair ID number.
  • In Custom Mode, a student’s profile would display “Real Name” text underneath the name that the player had given to a student. This bug has been fixed.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the time of day to be incorrect at the end of the 1980s Mode tutorial if the player had entered the “alternate timeline.”
  • Fixed bug that would cause Senpai’s hair to turn the wrong color in the “Kokona approaches Ayano” cutscene and “Senpai meets Amai” cutscene.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the game to softlock if the player was shoved by a student council member while being chased by a heroic student.
  • If the player befriended their rival in Custom Mode, text relating to Sonoko from 1980s Mode would appear onscreen. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player used a mirror to change into the “Tsundere Persona,” the correct walk animation would not play. This bug has been fixed.
  • In Custom Mode, the game would display the incorrect name for your current rival at the End of Day sequence. This bug has been fixed.
  • Fixed bug that forced the student council boys to have specific eyebrows / facial expressions in Custom Mode.
  • Fixed bug that would cause one of Senpai’s eyes to appear the wrong color in the Senpai Shrine at home.
  • A bug prevented the player from being able to move on Sunday in Custom Mode. This bug has been fixed.
  • Fixed typo in the text that displays when a rival is being framed for bringing alcohol to school.
  • One of Kaguya’s likes/dislikes did not match what was written in her diary. This has been fixed.
  • It was possible to stand on the horse. Oops! It is no longer possible to stand on the horse.
  • It was possible to stand in the tree. Oops! It is no longer possible to stand in the tree.
  • “Rival #5” was accidentally named “Rival #4” in the student list. This bug has been fixed.
  • Fixed typo on the new socialization screen.
  • Fixed typos in the “fun phonecall.”
