February 20th Bug-Fixing Build

Hello! There were a few bugs in the previous build that could soft-lock the game. Sorry about that! I’ve prepared a new build with a bunch of bug fixes.

To read about everything that got changed or fixed, please scroll down past this awesome illustration by Gekidowga depicting the Student Council girls in a post-apocalyptic setting!

Improvements

  • One of Info-chan’s Schemes instructed the player to speak to “Budo,” but new players might not know who “Budo” is, so that Scheme text has been changed to refer to “the leader of the Martial Arts Club” instead of “Budo.”
  • Juku Ren’s Task description instructed the player to bring him a dumbbell, but didn’t say where to find a dumbbell. To help new players, his Task description now mentions where the player can locate a dumbbell.
  • It is now possible to give a female character Osana’s hairstyle in Custom Mode.

Fixes

  • If the player used the Gaming Club to boost their Physical stat enough to meet the criteria for having a physical struggle with Raibaru, and then Raibaru witnessed the player commit murder, the player would enter the struggle animation + the “Raibaru breaks your arm” animation at the same time. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player lured Osana into a tripwire trap by making her investigate a weapon on the ground, and then the player picked up that weapon after Osana had been splashed with water, Osana would forget about being splashed with water and would continue her daily routine while still soaking wet. This bug has been fixed.
  • It was meant to be impossible to create a “Multi Mission” for 1980s Mode that involves pushing a student off a roof, since it’s impossible to send a student to their locker when Yakuza Mode was active. However, several bugs made it possible for that type of mission to exist. These bugs have been fixed.
  • If the player designed a student with the Protective Persona but gave this student a Strength value of “Incapable of Self-Defense,” the student would react to murder by apprehending the player and being killed by the player simultaneously, leading to a weird game over state. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player gave a teacher the “Violent” Persona, and then the teacher witnessed the player holding a weapon, the teacher would enter the “delinquent reacting to weapon” state and the “sending player to guidance counselor” state simultaneously, soft-locking the game. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player eliminated their rival on Friday by sending a mind-broken slave to murder them while they were standing under the confession tree, the game would fail to acknowledge the rival’s death, and the confession cutscene would still happen. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player tried to use the “Pass Time” feature during certain circumstances (involving easter eggs), the feature would not work properly. The “Pass Time” option will now be greyed-out during the circumstances that would cause it to not function.
  • Due to a bug, when a teacher in 1980s Mode was calling the cops, they were not taking out their cell phone or speaking any voice lines. This bug has been fixed. (Yes, portable telephones existed in 1989. They were primitive, but they did exist.)
  • In 1980s Mode, if the player lowered Sora Sosuke’s reputation to lower than -33, the “Raibaru stops being friends with Osana” event would occur, with Sora in Raibaru’s place and the current rival in Osana’s place. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player performed the lockpicking animation while holding an object (such as a bucket) the protagonist would continue to hold that object during the lockpicking animation, which looked really bad and weird. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player gave a student the “Sleuth” destination but not the “Sleuth” action, the student would not be able to perform their routine. Students will now simply advance to the next phase of their routine if this is the case.
  • If the player performed a stealth kill on Hazu while he was sewing, his corpse would clip into the table / wall in front of him, and the player would become unable to interact with his corpse. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player designed a student with the Strict Persona, the student would not be able to react to murder properly, nor would they be able to engage in a physical struggle with the player. This bug has been fixed.
  • If a teacher using the Fragile, Loner, or Snitch Persona witnessed murder, they would run away from the player, and a few seconds later, the player would permanently freeze in place. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player got into a physical struggle with Osana’s stalker, it was impossible to actually win the struggle, leading to either a softlock or a guaranteed game over. This bug has been fixed.
  • When playing the game with a PlayStation controller, the wrong button prompt would appear for navigating backwards through one of Info-chan’s Scheme instructions. This bug has been fixed.
  • If a male student was given a Strength of Invincible, the character’s ace would deform when performing Raibaru’s “counter-attack” animation. This bug has been fixed.
  • In the Content Checklist, the description for “Crush” was inaccurate. The description has been re-worded to be more accurate to actual gameplay options.
  • In 1980s Mode, the “Magical Girl Wand” did not have an outline, and did not become bloody after being used as a murder weapon. This bug has been fixed.
  • A debug command was left in the game that caused students to teleport if the player pressed the “Z” key during Yakuza Mode. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player tried to put a guitar into a weapon case, the guitar would clip through the case. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player saved and loaded their game while at school, the scythe weapon would disappear. This bug has been fixed.
  • Fixed typos in the “YouTube Chat Interaction” window.
