December 16th Bug-Fixing Build

There were a lot of bugs in the previous build – sorry about that! I’ve prepared a new update that fixes the issues.

To read a list of everything that got fixed, scroll down past this adorable artwork of Amai by kaheshiux!

Improvements

From their official artwork (and from remarks that Ryoba makes during her “introducing the next rival” monologues), we can tell that certain rivals are meant to be more pale-skinned or more tan-skinned than other rivals. Now that the game supports skin colors for female characters, some rivals’ skin colors have been updated to reflect their official artwork more accurately. Their in-game skin colors are not 100% accurate perfect replicas of their official artwork skin colors, but they’re definitely closer than they previously were. (Please note that you will only see their new skin colors reflected in normal 1980s Mode, and not in Custom Mode.)

Fixes

  • In the Custom Mode menu, if the player selected one of the last three characters (Counselor, Headmaster, Journalist) and then attempted to scroll up and edit any other character, a bunch of options would be disabled. This bug has been fixed.
  • When using certain school uniforms, if the game was instructed to give a student custom socks but not instructed to give her a custom skin color, she would appear at school wearing two pairs of socks simultaneously. This bug has been fixed.
  • If Senpai discovered a rival’s corpse while he was performing the “doubled over, catching his breath” animation in front of the legendary cherry tree, he would not be able to rotate towards the dead rival properly. This bug has been fixed.
  • Old Custom Mode save data should now be compatible with the latest build. If it doesn’t work, e-mail me your Custom Mode JSON files and I’ll see if I can figure out the problem and have it fixed in the next build.
  • In the previous build, a lot of information – such as whether or not the player had increased any of their stat points – was not being saved when the player ended the school day. This bug has been fixed.
  • The “Custom Bookbag Texture” feature was working, but as soon as the rival set her bookbag down at her desk, the bookbag texture would revert back to default. This bug has been fixed.
  • In Custom Mode, the game was not giving the protagonist the appearance that the player had designed for them (unless Custom Female Uniforms were enabled). This bug has been fixed.
  • If playing the game using a Sony controller, the button prompts in the “write a newspaper article” window would display the wrong buttons. This bug has been fixed.
  • The button prompt for pushing Ritsuko into the school pool was a physical object that the player could bump into while walking nearby it. This bug has been fixed.
  • The button prompt for pushing Ritsuko into the school pool was present at school even if Ritsuko was not present – even if it was 202X. This bug has been fixed.
  • Upon reaching the shoe lockers and changing their shoes, characters with custom skin would revert back to their default skin colors. This bug has been fixed.
  • The text “The liquid rolled to the bottom of the hill” was an oversight, and has been replaced with “The liquid flowed to the bottom of the hill.”
  • In Osana’s Befriend/Betray cutscene, her eyes were solid pink due to a missing shader. This bug has been fixed.
  • Amai’s eyebrows were not visible in her student portrait. This bug has been fixed.
