Currently, Yandere Simulator is only available as a free demo. This demo provides a basic representation of the final game, but the full version will be much more polished. The August 31st, 2020 Build introduced the character Osana along with the official demo. It's important to note that there is no official Mac port available. In the game, Osana can be found cleaning the Fountain in the Plaza with Taro and Raibaru nearby. She also interacts with Raibaru in the Plaza at 7:20 AM. If Raibaru is absent or dead, Osana's behavior and animations change as she mourns her friend's death. Similarly, if Raibaru has died, Osana will visit the tree in the plaza where they used to chat and mourn her loss. At 7:37 AM, both Osana and Raibaru will visit each club room, starting from the first floor and going up to the third, and then proceed back down and around the outside of the school.
After school, Osana returns to the tree to continue mourning. At 7:03 AM, Osana and Raibaru discuss Osana's behavior towards Senpai, showing that she is self-aware and concerned about how she comes across to him. Senpai, also known as Taro Yamada, is a main character in Yandere Simulator. The player, who does not have a defined name yet, must stop the rival characters from winning the affection of Senpai. The main character is deeply infatuated with Senpai and refers to him as “Sempai,” a term to address one's upperclassman. However, Ayano, the protagonist, has to be cautious as Osana will immediately apprehend her if she tries to harm her or Senpai. This requires Ayano to use clever strategies to eliminate the obstacle she poses.
It's worth mentioning that maintaining Ayano's fame level is crucial in the game. If her fame drops too low, it results in an instant Game Over. Furthermore, when Ayano points her phone camera at Osana, she becomes annoyed and Ayano receives a reputation penalty. The confession animation between Osana and Senpai loops, the surroundings darken, and Ayano can observe the animation through a hollow silhouette. During her confession, Osana mentions receiving many date requests from boys, indicating that she is also considered attractive.
For players who are looking for a pure gameplay experience similar to what Yandere Simulator initially offered, YandereDev assures them that they will find what they seek. In the game's intro, Info-chan expresses a strong desire to see Osana suffer, suggesting a deep hatred towards her. Another mod called “Koko Wa Aidesu” features eleven rivals for players to eliminate before the current week's rival can confess their feelings to Senpai. It's important to note that the 10 Rivals Update is a separate game mode from the main Yandere Simulator and fans will have to wait a bit longer for it.
