In Yandere Simulator, Ayano has the ability to take pictures with her cellphone that, when taken from a certain angle behind a girl, will capture the girl's panties. In the latest build as of February 1st, 2022, the player can press the "R" key to take out or put away a concealed weapon that is stored in the weapon bag. The player can choose one of three available button prompts at the bottom of the screen.
It's important to note that this feature has no function in 1980s Mode since cellphones did not exist at that time. However, in regular gameplay, the player can "tag" individuals by taking a clear picture of their face and sending it to Info-chan, a character who provides Ayano with information about that specific person. It's possible that players may encounter glimpses of Info-chan in future updates. This ability allows players to carry the weapon bag at all times and pull out their weapon whenever necessary. They can easily pick up a weapon, activate Yandere vision, and then use the "R" key to put it away when it's no longer needed.
The game also allows players to visit the school and interact with other characters, such as the troublesome student Noedaa Kanade and the school teacher Kadomae Kazuma. Ayano Aishi, also known as Yandere-chan, is the main character who falls in love with Taro Yamada (boy) or Taeko Yamada (girl), nicknamed "Senpai". When Yandere vision is activated in a low school atmosphere, certain colors become distorted and some outlines lose their color altogether. It's worth mentioning that outlines around people can change color depending on the situation. Yandere vision reveals outlines of objects or people of interest.
Yandere vision allows players to see characters and objects through walls. In the latest build as of August 1st, 2022, players can press the "F" key to instantly hide or retrieve an item from the bookbag without needing to remove the bookbag first. Previously, in the October 29th, 2021 build, the bookbag only served a purpose for role-playing and was later removed. In the January 1st, 2016 build, players could spot Megami Saikou under the fountain, and if Yandere vision was used while Megami was giving her monologue, the speech would be slowed down. To see certain NPCs through walls, the player must "tag" them.
